Locker’s Point Trail

This 1.5km linear (3km return) trail is one for anyone with an appreciation for the outdoors, with uniquely formed rocks, breathtaking ridges, lush green foliage along with a variety of wildlife; it’s a hike not to pass up. From the rocky point to the wondrous woodland, a non-stop hike will take an hour or so, but with most of the trail being an uphill climb, scenery breaks are always recommended.

White Point Trail

Looking to take in the many sites of Englee, why not be your own tour guide? This hike, filled with breathtaking views, spans the west side of Englee Island. From start to end you’ll experience natures’ wonders, such as “The Enchanted Forest” (named by locals), where you’ll find oddly shaped trees that twist and turn as they reach for the sky and White Point, named so for the crisp white Cambrian Marble. The trail ends at Grevigneaux Harbour where you may choose to return on the trail or walk through the community and visit with the locals. A non-stop hike across Englee Island will take anywhere from 1.5-2hours.

Barr’d Island Trail

This Trail begins with 164 steps leading up the side of a cliff, but no worries, you’ll find several landings along the way complete with picnic tables and rest spots. Looking for icebergs or a view of Englee from above Canada Bay? Lookouts are plentiful along the trail with binoculars on site, creating an artist’s/photographer’s dream. The location of Newfoundland’s worst sealing disaster (Depicted in the book Death on the Ice) can also be seen.

Looking for more? Beneath the cliff sides a walk along the rugged shoreline of Barr’d Island will give you a chance to experience the unique sea rock formations and sea caves.
